Ventura County Office of Education announce school closures due to wildfire for Dec. 7, 8

VENTURA COUNTY —Due to the ongoing fire emergency, several Ventura County school districts will be closed for the remainder of this week. The current list of closures is below. The latest updates will be posted at www.vcoe.org.

The following districts will be closed the rest of this week (Dec. 7 & 8)

  • Briggs Elementary School District
  • Hueneme Elementary School District
  • Mesa Union Elementary School District
  • Mupu Elementary School District
  • Ocean View Elementary School District
  • Ojai Unified School District
  • Oxnard Elementary School District
  • Oxnard Union High School District
  • Pleasant Valley School District
  • Rio Elementary School District
  • Santa Clara Elementary School District
  • Santa Paula Unified School District
  • Ventura County Office of Education Career Education Center (Camarillo and Moorpark)
  • Ventura County Office of Education-operated school sites and classrooms
  • Ventura Unified School District

 

The following district will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 7

  • Fillmore Unified School District

 

Additional Information about VCOE-operated Schools

All Ventura County Office of Education school sites will be closed for the remainder of this week – Thursday, December 7 and Friday, December 8. due to the wildfires. This includes Gateway and Providence Schools, VCOE Career Education Center locations, Boswell School, Dwire School, James Foster School, Penfield School, Triton Academy, ACCESS, Phoenix School sites, as well as the VCOE Special Education classrooms located throughout Ventura County. As conditions permit, school administrators will be available during normal school hours at all main VCOE campuses.
