Museum of Ventura County update for Aug. 10

A message from the Interim Executive Director

Once again, the Museum owes you – our patrons, volunteers, members and benefactors – a debt of gratitude for your stalwart support. A crowd of about 40 Museum supporters attended the Ventura City Council meeting last week, where the Council confirmed its contract with the Museum for $125,000 over six months. As you may know, this six-month time frame gives us an opportunity to demonstrate our success in efforts to reinvent the Museum and create a sustainable and exciting institution.

We are thankful to the elected officials and staff of both the City and County of Ventura for the funding and tactical support each agency has provided toward the many initiatives we have commenced.
There is a lot of activity underway, and we will keep you informed of our progress with regular updates.
Our sincere thanks, and looking forward to an exciting future –

Elena Brokaw
Interim Executive Director, Museum of Ventura County
