CAMARILLO — The Ventura County Genealogical Society will present a Free Family History Program  Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the Camarillo Library Community Room, 4101 Las Posas Road, Camarillo, CA

Presentation by Linda Serna:

  • 1:00 P.M. “Road Block: Where Do I Go From Here?”

This workshop addresses what happens when we hit a road block or brick wall in our research, how to look at the challenge, ideas before you begin to attack the problem, including determining what you need to find and looking for overlooked clues. It then presents several ideas and other sources that may not have been thought of to research, interspersing the sources with specific examples, showing how one can get back on track again.

Linda Serna been involved with genealogy in researching and writing family stories for over 30 years. She recently worked on the PBS program Genealogy Roadshow. She is currently a member of the Southern California Chapter of the Association of Professional Genealogists (SCCAPG), the Genealogical Speakers Guild (GSG), the California State Genealogical Alliance (CSGA), the Polish Genealogical Society (PGS-CA), and the Genealogical Society of Hispanic America (GSHA-CA), as well as being Vice President of Programs for the Orange County California Genealogical Society (OCCGS).
