State Sen. Hannah-Beth Jackson to speak at Women’s March in Los Angeles on Jan. 21

LOS ANGELES — State Senator Hannah-Beth Jackson (D-Santa Barbara) will join the Women’s March in Los Angeles tomorrow and speak at a rally held at Los Angeles City Hall.

Jackson, the author of California’s landmark equal pay law and joint author of the state’s groundbreaking affirmative consent law to prevent and address campus sexual assault, will be speaking about the importance of continuing to fight for women’s rights, as well as immigrant and civil rights, during a rally held at Los Angeles City Hall tomorrow. She is scheduled to speak at City Hall at approximately 11:40.

“Trump lost and lost badly in California. He does not stand for us and we will not be silent. I look forward to travelling to Los Angeles with thousands of others from my community to join the tens of thousands of Californians expected for this march. California is now preparing for the hard work ahead of fighting and staying true to who we are and what we stand for,” Jackson said. “California has always and will continue to be a leader in the fight for equal pay, for standing up to sexual assault, for protecting women’s choice and reproductive rights, and advancing strong family leave policies.”

Jackson is chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee and represents the 19th Senate District, which includes all of Santa Barbara County and western Ventura County.
