SANTA BARBARA — Hearts Therapeutic Equestrian Center invites the community to its second annual Halloween Spooktacular and Open House on Wednesday, October 26 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Hearts’ riding facilities, located at 4420 Calle Real in Santa Barbara.
The open house event will feature trick-or-treating in the barn, a horse costume contest and parade, a giant broomstick bake sale, ghoulish games, face-painting and other fun festivities. All ages are welcome to attend and are encouraged to dress in Halloween costumes.
“Watching children trick or treat with our horses–who are also dressed up in fun and amazing costumes– is just one of the wonderful things that makes Halloween at Hearts is one of my favorite events of the year.” said Alexis Weaver, executive director of Hearts Therapeutic Equestrian Center. “We encourage everyone interested in taking part in the Halloween festivities and learning about our organization to come out and join us for this special day. It’s the perfect opportunity to visit our facility and learn more about what we’re all about here at Hearts.”
Since 1985, Hearts Therapeutic Equestrian Center has improved the lives of individuals with physical, emotional, and cognitive challenges, illnesses or injuries, in Santa Barbara County through equine facilitated activities and therapies.
Admission to the Halloween Spooktacular and Open House is a suggested donation of $5 per person. Proceeds will benefit Hearts’ mission to inspire, strengthen and motivate people of all ages and capabilities through equine assisted activities.
Hearts’ facility at 4420 Calle Real is located across from the County Sherriff’s Department and further up the hill. Directions are available here.
