12th annual Rebozo Festival to be held May 15 at Camarillo Ranch

Proceeds benefit Ventura County non-profit agencies

Rebozo FestivalCAMARILLO — The Rebozo Festival, Inc. is pleased to announce the 12th annual Rebozo Festival, which will be held on Sunday, May 15th, 2016 from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Camarillo Ranch.

In 2005, a small group of community volunteers, Las Madrinas (the Godmothers), gathered to organize the 1st Rebozo Festival, a benefit event established to raise funds for Ventura County non-profit charitable organizations focusing on the cultural, social and educational needs of the community. This unique cultural event promotes the rich heritage of our area by highlighting the colorful Mexican rebozo (shawl) as our theme.

The 12th annual Rebozo Festival will be held at the Camarillo Ranch, located at 201 Camarillo Ranch Road, Camarillo, CA 93012.  Ticket prices are $45.00 and includes a lavish Mexican brunch, mariachi music, a rebozo fashion show and access to silent and live auctions as well as a fully stocked tiendita and cantina.

Entertainment includes Mariachi Aguilas de Oxnard, Dance by Sonora Dinamita and Oxnard College – Ballet Folklorico Mestizo, Director Mati Sanchez.

Proceeds from the 2016 Rebozo Festival will benefit BattleGround, Inc. and Mixteco/Indigena Community Organizing Project (MICOP).  Since 2005, the Rebozo Festival has raised over $250,000 for recipients.
