Carnegie Art Museum in Oxnard to present opening reception for ‘Monumentum: Drawings + Paintings by Ramon Ramirez’ on Dec. 13

OXNARD — The Carnegie Art Museum in Oxnard will present “Monumentum: Drawings + Paintings by Ramon Ramirez,” with the opening reception from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13 at 424 S. C. St., Oxnard. The exhibit will open Dec. 14 and continue through Feb. 22.

The exhibit includes unofficial monuments captured through reconnaissance of the urban environment.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, the city has served as Ramon Ramirez’ muse from the onset.  He is one of the featured artists in the book Contemporary Chicana/Chicano Artists.He received his B.A., M.A. + M.Architecture degrees from the University of California at Berkeley. The Bilingual Press at Arizona State University, the Business Journal of Hispanic Research, New York University Press and recently UCLA Chicano Studies Research Center have published his paintings and drawings in books, journals, and magazines.
