El Concilio Family Services has struck it rich on its 25th silver anniversary with a wealth of deserving community leaders as it presents its “Latino Leadership Awards” gala on Saturday, May 31 at the Oxnard Performing Arts Center, 800 Hobson Way, Oxnard.
Honorees this year include Frank P. Barajas, professor at CSU Channel Islands; Susan Carrasco, college and career counselor; attorney Frankie Villasenor Guzman; Thomas D. McCollum, AVID coordinator; Jorge Ochoa, a senior student at Oxnard High School; Edlyn Vallejo Peña, assistant professor at California Lutheran University; Vanessa Prado, a Hueneme High School graduate, and Alejandro Rangel Jr., a sergeant with the Oxnard Police Department (Photos by BB Rivas).
