OXNARD — The Mother’s Day “Black & White Gala Dinner Dance,” featuring Yari More Y Su Orquesta, playing the best of Merengue, cha-cha, bolero, salsa, cumbia, and Latin jazz, will be presented from 5 to 11 p.m. Saturday, May 11 at the Oxnard Performing Arts Center, 800 So. Hobson Way, Oxnard.
A master “salsero” singer/musician, More has performed at the House of Blues, The Conga Room, New Century Club, The Rumba Room and Hollywood Bowl Playboy Jazz Festival. He has played with other great salseros such as Willy Chirino, Tito Puente, India, Jerry Rivera, El Gran Combo and Marc Anthony.
More was the official West Coast Orchestra band leader for the great “Queen of Salsa,” Celia Cruz, for the last seven years of her career. Special presentation by conductor maestro Juan Jose Almaguer.
