Santa Maria to celebrate Día de los Muertos from Oct. 28 through Nov. 4

SANTA MARIA — MASCARA, the Mexican-American Scholarship Cultural and Recreation Association, will present an altar its 18th annual Día de los Muertos celebration from Oct. 28 through Nov. 4 at the Santa Maria Town Center Mall, 142 Town Center East, first floor, open during mall hours.

The Day of the Dead is a pre-Hispanic celebration of life. The memories and desires of the dearly departed are remembers during these festivities, organizers reported.  This year’s celebration is dedicated to those who lost their lives to bullying.
