2026 Women United Education Awards Luncheon

We are so excited to share the good news with you! Every year we provide financial support and mentorship to low-income single mothers pursuing financial security through higher education. This year we had a total of 11 applications from our three area community colleges. All 11 women are single moms who are graduating from community college and have been admitted to a 4-year university or advanced professional training. We were able to support all 11 women! This support can be used for any expenses related to education or caring for their children while enrolled in classes. Over the last 10 years we have awarded 94 Women United Education Awards totaling $175,500!

On June 4, 2026 we were able to recognize seven of our awardees at the annual luncheon. They are students moving on to the next part of their educational journey, single mothers, and leaders. In the words of our keynote speaker, “Motherhood is leadership. Who knows more about strategic foresight, crisis management, resource allocation, risk assessment, and inclusive leadership than a mother?”

CONGRATULATIONS to all of our awardees! Your determination, resilience, and dedication are an inspiration and we are proud to support you in your journey.

This year’s awards are the largest yet and it is because of the support of our Women United memberships and the Aerie Real Foundation grant. Join Women United and be a part of making a difference in the lives of low-income single mothers who are working toward financial security! We are also looking for mentors!
