Restaurant incorporates cutting-edge technology to deliver unique customer experience
OXNARD — PizzaMan Dan’s, which opened recently in The Annex Food Hall at The Collection, is now offering a one-of-a-kind dining experience with the addition of several new technological elements, including an ordering kiosk, automated full bar and pizza serving robot, as well as neon furniture and a giant LED screen.
“I wanted to create a little slice of pizza paradise for our customers that is unlike anything they’ve ever experienced,” said PizzaMan Dan’s owner, Dan Collier. “We are offering the same delicious menu and excellent service that our customers have always loved, but we are taking it to a new level with technology and an ambiance that makes our location at The Collection not just a restaurant, but a dining destination.”
PizzaMan Dan’s location in The Annex is now offering customers the opportunity to conveniently place their orders at an easy-to-use kiosk. Food orders go to the kitchen, and drink orders go to the Smart Bar, which features a selection of 50 liquors that can be poured at the press of a button using a gravity-based system. Bartenders simply add any additional ingredients or garnishes, and by eliminating unnecessary touch points, drinks reach customers in record time — with consistent, automated quality every time.
On select occasions, customers can also find Ventura County’s only pizza-serving robot roaming the restaurant. The robot, nicknamed Joules and manufactured by Bear Robotics, is programmed to travel back and forth between the kitchen and tables to bring customers their food, offering a new take on contactless delivery and a fun experience for anyone lucky enough to spot her.
Adding to the high-tech ambiance of the restaurant is a full set of solar-powered, color changing, LED furniture, inspired by Meow Wolf, and a 13-foot by 7-foot LED screen that allows PizzaMan Dan’s to precisely control how TV content is displayed to create just the right color balance and vibrance at all times.
“This is our first location to combine all of these different technological elements into a fully integrated experience,” Collier said. “We chose The Annex because the team at The Collection was so supportive in helping us overcome hurdles to build the restaurant we imagined. In addition to incorporating cutting-edge technology, our concept included a full bar, pizza by the slice for immediate service and a delivery setup where our drivers wouldn’t have to walk too far to get to their cars — The Annex was the perfect fit for our vision.”
Founded by Collier 15 years ago, PizzaMan Dan’s now has eight locations serving all of Ventura, Oxnard, Port Hueneme, Moorpark, Carpinteria and Camarillo. To learn more, visit https://www.pizzamandans.com.
