Proceeds of boat raffle to provide financial assistance to local families in need
Fort Pierce, FL – Twin Vee PowerCats, Inc. (Symbol: TVPC) pledged the donation of one of their popular boat models to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo Valley, which will be raffled off during the 15th Annual “Stand Up for Kids” Gala Dinner & Auction on October 21, 2017 in Westlake Village, CA. Proceeds of the boat raffle will provide financial assistance to families who cannot afford to fully pay for their children’s dues and fees.
The company’s CEO, Joseph Visconti, enjoys giving back to the community and was inclined to get involved with the Boys & Girls Clubs because of his employees. Several of Twin Vee PowerCats, Inc.’s employees were involved with the organization as children and remarked to Visconti that Boys & Girls Clubs made positive and long-lasting impacts on their lives. “Many of our employees come from disadvantaged backgrounds.” says Joseph Visconti. “A great deal of them credit the Boys & Girls Clubs with providing them a safe environment, which gave them a constant source of encouragement and helped them establish lifelong ideals. We thank the Boys & Girls Clubs for instilling great core values in our employees because they have a passion for getting the job done and work diligently to do so.”
The Boys & Girls Clubs offer children between 5 and 18 years of age access to a wide variety of activities ranging from academic development to wellness. The organization offers arts and crafts, computer classes, career development, homework help, sports, social skills development, and fitness classes. In addition to the everyday services provided, the organization takes members on field trips outside of the club. The Boys & Girls Clubs never turn down a child because of their family’s inability to pay membership fees. Fees are based on family income and are also paid for with donations.
“At Twin Vee PowerCats, Inc., we want to help ensure that the Boys & Girls Clubs can continue their valuable work with children, as they have done with our employees,” says Visconti. “We wanted to donate our boat for the Gala Dinner & Auction raffle so that the proceeds can aid underprivileged children gain social and educational capital, which will help them thrive and become productive members of our society.”
