OXNARD — Gold Coast Transit District (GCTD) is excited to announce the fifth annual appearance of its popular “Elf on the GO” holiday bus. The 40-foot bus is now appearing throughout GCTD’s service area through January 3, 2021.

Each year the community awaits the debut of “Elf on the GO” to see what those little elves are up to. This year’s elves are larger than life and will bring joy to the communities of Ojai, Oxnard, Port Hueneme, Ventura and the County areas in between these cities. One mischievous elf even invites onlookers to take a “sELFie” from afar!

“It’s been a challenging year for so many and our hope is that the Elf on the GO holiday bus brings a bit of cheer during the holidays,” commented GCTD General Manager, Steven P. Brown. “While we encourage individuals to only ride the bus if they must, we purposely designed this year’s elves to be extra-large so they can easily be seen from afar.” Onlookers are encouraged to take pictures, tag #ElfontheGO and post to Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for a chance to win prizes.

As a result of COVID-19, GCTD continues to provide free fares on all buses, including “Elf on the GO,” and reminds passengers that masks are required at all times while on-board.

Sightings of the “Elf on the GO” bus can be tracked by searching #ElfontheGO on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
