Pre-LAT itself is a comprehensive test of the system’s ability to function properly and produce accurate results. Equipment tested in Pre-LAT includes the ballot scanners and tabulators, adjudication equipment, ADA-accessible ballot marking devices, and ballot printers. Each component is tested separately, and the final test results are reported to the California Secretary of State. Only equipment passing the logic and accuracy tests can be utilized in the election.
