Social Justice Fund for Ventura County (SJFVC) — Fellow Reflects Impact of Fellowship

Hello,

As the end of the year draws near, the Social Justice Fund for Ventura County (SJFVC) has been working hard to support our fellows and reflect on the impact of our work. In a recent meeting, Dexter Nunnery – one of our 2022 fellows – stated the following:

Dexter Nunnery “Before the grant, I operated on the minimum of what I could personally afford to put towards creating PROJECT50 and it hurt to not be able to help or build, but the SJFVC seed grant has allowed me to be more creative and accomplish the things that are very important for the Black community to see me as a legitimate organization. When you don’t have to worry about money, the creativity is endless.”
Dexter’s articulation of the funding for his work and his community serves as an important reminder that heartfelt leaders deserve access to financial resources in order to bring their passion to life.

Thank you for supporting the SJFVC.
