VENTURA — Jiffy Lube and Meals on Wheels have created a partnership that will benefit the Ventura County Area Agency on Aging’s meal-delivery programs to homebound older adults during the month of October.
From now until October 31, Jiffy Lube customers who receive oil changes, tire rotations, or other vehicle maintenance will have the opportunity to donate $1, $3, $5 or more to Meals on Wheels at checkout. Those funds will be used to support the meal-delivery efforts of the VCAAA, which is a division of the County of Ventura’s Human Services Agency.
Participating Jiffy Lube locations in Ventura County include:
- Camarillo (55 W. Daily Dr. or 274 Arneill Rd.)
- Fillmore (707 W. Ventura St.)
- Moorpark (797 W. Los Angeles Ave.)
- Oxnard (101 W. Esplanade Dr. or 1465 West 5th St.)
- Simi Valley (1515 E. Los Angeles Ave. or 4426 E. Los Angeles Ave.)
- Thousand Oaks (2905 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd. or 1695 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd.)
- Ventura (1098 E. Thompson Blvd.)
Additional Southern California Jiffy Lubes that are also accepting donations that will benefit the VCAAA meal-delivery programs include: Agoura Hills (29162 Roadside Dr.), Canoga Park (20860 Roscoe Blvd.), Canyon Country (20703 Soledad Canyon Rd. or 18533 Via Princessa), Goleta (6015 Hollister Ave.), Lancaster (43750 15th St. W or 44846 Valley Central Way), Northridge (18503 Devonshire St. or 9500 Reseda Blvd.), Palmdale (1040 W. Rancho Vista Blvd. or 320 West Rancho Vista Blvd.), Quartz Hill (42158 50th St. W), Reseda (7558 N. Reseda Blvd.), San Fernando (11541 Lauren Canyon Blvd.), Santa Barbara (932 De La Vina St. or 3956 State St.), and Stevenson Ranch (24832 Pico Canyon Rd.).
Home-delivered meals are typically available to homebound older adults aged 60+ who are unable to travel to a congregate meal site. The VCAAA partners with local Senior Centers, food companies/restaurants, and other agencies to produce nutritious meals and make the deliveries. There were more than 500,000 home-delivered meals provided countywide in 2022-23 through the VCAAA’s programs and partnerships.
The promotion is part of Jiffy Lube’s Drive To Do More commitment to support charities and volunteers nationwide. Jiffy Lube International, Inc., has jumpstarted the donations with an individual contribution of $150,000 to Meals on Wheels America.
