THOUSAND OAKS — The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo Valley is seeking the help of the community to raise the very last portion of needed funds for expanding the John L. Notter Family Club located on the Redwood Middle School campus in Thousand Oaks.
“With this new facility, we will be able to double the amount of youth we currently serve, add more quality programming and reach more kids, especially those in need,” stated Jennie Parkinson, Director of Donor Relations for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo Valley.
The expansion will create an 8,000-square foot permanent facility with the goal of breaking ground in January. To date, the Boys & Girls Clubs have raised 93% of their $3 million goal. With just $300,000 left to break ground, the Boys & Girls Clubs are reaching out to the community for support. A generous donor has agreed to match up to $100,000 over the next 30 days for every donation made.
“We are thrilled with the generosity and support of local leaders who embrace and recognize the need to reinvest in our community by supporting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo Valley as it nears completion of its most ambitious project to date,” stated Joe Seetoo, Capital Campaign Chair for the Boys & Girls Clubs. “With that said, we are not across the finish line yet and we need the support of the community to procure the last $300,000 to finish the Redwood facility,” he continued. “In this season of giving, we encourage the community to consider a thoughtful gift which will deeply impact the local community,” he added.
