SANTA PAULA — The City of Santa Paula would like to invite the community to the Grand Opening Celebration and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the Santa Paula Creek Sports Park on Saturday, May 3, 2025. While the park has been open for public use, this special event marks the official community celebration of the 37-acre facility—now the largest park in Santa Paula’s history.
The event will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., beginning with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., followed by a lively community celebration from 11:45 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at 301 Harvest Loop, Santa Paula, CA 93060.
The Grand Opening Celebration will offer a full afternoon of fun and excitement for the whole family. Guests will enjoy live drills and demonstrations by Santa Paula’s talented youth softball and soccer teams, showcasing the community’s athletic spirit. A live band will take the stage at the new amphitheater, filling the park with music and energy.
Food lovers can grab a bite from a selection of local food trucks, while kids explore the Parks & Recreation equipment displays or hop aboard a charming kids’ train ride. The celebration will also feature interactive booths hosted by community-based organizations, offering educational resources and hands-on activities.
To top it off, families can look forward to inflatables, face painting, and plenty of surprises throughout the day—making it a perfect outing for all ages.
“This park is a game-changer for Santa Paula,” said Greg Barnes, Parks and Recreation Director. “The Grand Opening will showcase how this space brings our community together—through sports, music, learning, and play.”
The Santa Paula Creek Sports Park features an inclusive playground, basketball courts, walking trails, an amphitheater, and more—all set against the scenic backdrop of the Santa Paula Creek. It more than doubles the city’s recreational space and serves as a gathering place for families, friends, and community groups.
“This park represents the heart of our community,” said Vanessa Olmos, Chair of the Parks and Recreation Commission. “It’s a place for all generations to connect, be active, and celebrate what makes Santa Paula special.”
This transformative project would not have been possible without the generous support and collaboration of Limoneira Lewis Community Builders, whose partnership helped bring this long-envisioned recreational space to life. Their commitment to enhancing quality of life in Santa Paula has played a key role in delivering a park the entire community can be proud of.
The community is now able to reserve BBQ pavilions and athletic fields, making the park an ideal destination for gatherings, tournaments, and celebrations. To make reservations contact the Parks & Recreation Department at 805-933-4226 ext. 350 or email arico@spcity.org.
Looking ahead, the Santa Paula Creek Sports Park will continue to grow and evolve with an additional phase planned in the coming years adding additional recreational features for athletes and families.
As the park continues to thrive, residents and supporters are encouraged to help shape its future by contributing to the Santa Paula Creek Sports Park Foundation. Donations can be made by visiting www.spsportspark.org, helping ensure this vibrant space remains a cornerstone of community life for years to come.
Come be part of this exciting milestone. We look forward to celebrating with you!
