SANTA PAULA — On June 24, 2024, Santa Paula water customers were notified as a precaution to not use the tap water for drinking or cooking until further notice. This notice did not impact all water customers but particular areas of the city which were identified in the original notice.
The City of Santa Paula Water System, in conjunction with the State Water Resources Control Board, and the Ventura County Environmental Division, has determined that, through abatement of the health hazard and comprehensive testing of the water, the tap water for all Santa Paula residences is safe, including for drinking and cooking.
Yesterday, we obtained water samples across the city in potentially affected and non- affected areas. We received results that none of the samples contained any bacteria. Additionally, we have further investigated the tank breach and found no further evidence of other potential contamination. Despite this, as a precaution, we are keeping the tank offline to perform a full cleanout which includes draining and disinfecting. The location of the breach has been repaired and the tank will remain offline until added security measures are put in place along with increased surveillance.
In light of the do not drink notice cancellation, we will discontinue the potable water refill station at the Water Treatment Plant (532 Main St.) effective 5 pm on Jun 25, 2024. Thank you for your patience and understanding during the past 24-hours. Your trust in our water infrastructure and staff to provide clean drinking water to the community is our highest priority.

SANTA PAULA – – El 24 de junio de 2024, se notifico? a los clientes de agua de Santa Paula, como medida de precaucio?n, que no usaran el agua del grifo para beber o cocinar hasta nuevo aviso. Este aviso no afecto? a todos los clientes de agua, sino a a?reas particulares de la ciudad que fueron identificadas en el aviso original.
El Sistema de Agua de la Ciudad de Santa Paula, junto con la Junta Estatal de Control de Recursos Hi?dricos y la Divisio?n Ambiental del Condado de Ventura, han determinado que, mediante la reduccio?n del riesgo para la salud y pruebas integrales del agua, el agua del grifo para todas las residencias de Santa Paula es seguro, incluso para beber y cocinar.
Ayer obtuvimos muestras de agua en toda la ciudad en a?reas potencialmente afectadas y no afectadas. Recibimos resultados de que ninguna de las muestras conteni?a bacterias.
