OXNARD — Food Share, Ventura County’s largest hunger-relief organization, is bringing its most popular community event back for the holidays! The 12th Annual CAN-tree food drive will take place in Figueroa Plaza from Thursday, November 30 when the trees will be built, through Sunday, December 3, 2022, when they will be dismantled.
The event, which brings thousands of individuals, families, and local businesses together to collect and build hundreds of canned food “trees” is Food Share’s biggest food and fund drive of the year and is a critical source of food for the thousands of people still struggling with food insecurity in Ventura County.
There are lots of ways to get involved. Participants can Collect & Build, Buy & Build, Raise & Build or Sponsor a Tree. There’s also a chance to win one of 10 coveted awards including the CAN Crusher, the Top CAN Crusher, and the People’s Choice, which will be featured on Food Share’s website, social media pages and in its newsletter.

12º EVENTO ANUAL DE COLECTA DE ALIMENTOS DE CAN-TREE

OXNARD, CA) Food Share, la organización de alivio del hambre más grande del condado de Ventura, ¡está trayendo su evento comunitario más popular para las fiestas! La 12.ª colecta anual de alimentos para árboles CAN se llevará a cabo en Figueroa Plaza desde el jueves 30 de noviembre, cuando se construirán los árboles, hasta el domingo 3 de diciembre de 2022, cuando serán desmantelados.
El evento, que reúne a miles de personas, familias y empresas locales para recolectar y construir cientos de “árboles” de alimentos enlatados, es la mayor colecta de alimentos y fondos del año de Food Share y es una fuente fundamental de alimentos para las miles de personas que aún luchando contra la inseguridad alimentaria en el condado de Ventura.
