Dear CAM Members, Donors, Artists, and Friends,

Although the City of Oxnard must responsibly resolve a $9.2 million budget deficit projected for next fiscal year 2019-20, Carnegie Art Museum and its 501(c)3  nonprofit group, Carnegie Art Museum Cornerstones were deeply shaken to learn of the potential closure of the Carnegie after June 30, 2019. The new budget is scheduled to not be approved by City Council until June 18th and the CAM Cornerstones are seeking alternatives so this arts and art education resource is not lost.

The City has mentioned that it is planning to reopen a stronger Carnegie as a vibrant arts center after Downtown Oxnard is revitalized in the future. But you can help to keep the Museum open for the present by making your support of the Museum Know.

BUILDING BLOCKS OF ART

10:30 am-12noon              ages 7-11
In these workshops, kids familiarize themselves with the seven elements of art (line, shape, form, color, value, texture and space). Kids spend time in the galleries exploring current exhibitions and then they create an art work about what they learned.

Animal Mix-up –Explore animal illustration in a playful, surrealist manner. Add the legs from one animal, the head of another, and keep adding until a new creature emerges.
