THOUSAND OAKS — The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo Valley is excited to announce its newest board member, Rachelle Wan.
Wan has more than 25 years of experience as a pharmaceutical expert and executive. She is skilled in leading and mentoring diverse teams to their maximum professional potential. Her family moved to Southern California five and a half years ago to begin her career at Amgen. Her many responsibilities and initiatives as an executive director at Amgen include owning pricing and contracting elements for the company’s diverse brands, delivering financial reporting for quarterly earnings reporting, and helping achieve the successful integration of the Otezla acquisition.
Outside of Amgen Wan, a mother of two, is deeply passionate about the health and wellbeing of children, especially those who live in difficult circumstances. According to Wan, “There is a lot that we can do to help those in our area who do not have it as easy as others. Growing up I was not from a money family, and looking back at some of the things I went through I realized the Boys and Girls Club really has something to offer. It provides children with a safe place to go and a good place to land.” She goes on to mention that even during COVID, “the dedicated team of qualified people at the Boys and Girls club have committed themselves to making sure that children have somewhere safe to go.”
When asked about how she wants to impact this organization in the future, Wan is open minded. “The work the Boys and Girls Club does is outstanding, and anything that I can do to help support them is important. What excites me the most entering the board is figuring out if there is a way that I could make it even more exciting for children and an even better experience then it already has been.”
