OXNARD — The Seventh annual Oxnard Tamale Festival will be held from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6 at Plaza Park in downtown Oxnard.
Presented by City of Oxnard Recreation & Community Services and Oxnard College, the free event features various tamale vendors offering mouth-watering tamales, including authentic Filipino and Oaxacan tamales to red pork and chocolate, organizers reported in a media release.
Activities include corn husk art for kids hosted by Carnegie Art Museum and Oxnard College, cooking demonstrations hosted by the Oxnard College Culinary Arts Program, an arts and crafts demonstration by Arte Yolteotl, arts and crafts booths, amusement rides including the Oxnard City Corps Train, and photo opportunities with Santa Claus.
The Oxnard Tamale Festival’s entertainment will be headlined by local favorites Band Ignition, In Stone, Myst and Oxnard High School Mariachi & Vocal Ensemble.
