The Young Leaders Society (YLS) will present its annual the “Youth Empowerment Summit from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, May 6 at Oxnard College, 4000 So. Rose Ave., Oxnard.
The Youth Empowerment Summit was developed by YLS in 2008 to address the lack of career guidance in our public schools and to provide high school and community college students with the knowledge and skills they need to successfully transition into higher education and the workforce.
The summit is a FREE Community event for HIGH SCHOOL and COMMUNITY COLLEGE students. You can now register to attend the annual Youth Empowerment Summit by visiting www.ylsvc.org.
This is a career and life mentoring event for high school and community college students that provides educational scholarships to those transferring to a college or university. One just needs to do three SIMPLE things:
1. ATTEND THE EVENT;
2. 2.5 GPA or Above;
3. 10 Hours of Services to be completed after the event. You have until June 30 to fulfill.
The Young Leaders Society is a program of the United Way of Ventura County that empowers high school and community college by providing them with career and life mentoring and scholarships ranging from $250 – $1,000 to help further their educational attainment.
