The opening of Templeton Place II was one of the most joyful occasions of this past year. Welcoming veterans home, all seniors and some formerly experiencing homelessness, was a victorious battle won for 36 households by our multifamily housing development, construction, property management and compliance teams. And in San Luis Obispo, 42 new units were brought online at Broad Street Place, along with 56 units preserved and rehabilitated in Isla Vista. Behind them are 431 more new apartment units now in construction.
Testing at the end of the 2022-23 academic school year showed significant improvements for Camino Scholars students across the board! Of the 400+ enrolled, there was a 66% improvement in student performance, when compared to their beginning of the school year grades. This is a testament to the collective efforts and commitment to academic excellence of PSHH educators and students!
The Summer Holly Homes neighborhood commenced construction, with 10 hard working families now closer to moving into new homes they own, built through the fruits of their own labor and tenacity. Made possible through People’s staff efforts, including contributing to the creation of a workforce housing ordinance, championed by the leadership of the PSHH home ownership team.
NeighborWorks America, a network of approximately 250 nonprofits represented in every state, completed of a comprehensive onsite evaluation of our entire organization. We achieved their top rating for management of risk, performance, programs, capacity, and financial health. Kudos to the tireless and skilled team members’ efforts in our office and property operations, systems management, and supportive services areas.
The need keeps growing, and so do we.

The ability of our mission and organization to attract professional, committed individuals is an imperative if we are to continue confronting the housing crisis head on. This year, we were proud to welcome 82 new employees onto the PSHH team, with an 11% growth in headcount as an organization!

Thanks to you, there were many other milestones and successes like these throughout 2023. Take a look at our 2022-23 Impact Report and celebrate what you made happen!

Thank you for your continued partnership in building so much more than housing!
