VENTURA COUNTY — The West Ventura County Business Alliance is pleased to announce the recipients of the 56th Annual Camarillo Top 10 Community Awards, the city’s premier recognition event.
The awards recognize businesses, organizations and individuals that are dedicated to enhancing Camarillo’s positive business and community environment. Nominations are submitted by the public to the WVCBA and winners are chosen by a selection committee.
The 2023 honorees are:
- Youth of the Year – Carlos Valencia, Student at Adolfo Camarillo High School
- Educator of the Year – Kelly Borchard, Principal of Santa Rosa Technology Magnet School
- Senior of the Year – Jerry Clifford
- Volunteer of the Year – Chris Valenzuela
- Public Servant of the Year – Jackie Rose, Director of Ventura County Animal Services
- Nonprofit of the Year – Camarillo Academic Olympics
- Entrepreneur of the Year – Jeanne Sikoff, Owner of Zander’s Game House
- Business of the Year – Camarillo Hotel and Tourism Association
- Man of the Year – Roosevelt Bolden
- Woman of the Year – Kristie Akl
- Philanthropists of the Year – Dave and Dawn Gross
- Stan Daily Lifetime Achievement Award – The Hiji Family
Honorees will be formally presented to Camarillo’s City Council at its meeting on September 27. Winners will be celebrated at the 2023 Camarillo Top 10 Community Awards Gala on Friday, November 3, from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Serra Center in Camarillo. The gala is open to the public. Tickets are $150 (includes a three-course dinner with wine) and can be purchased online at wvcba.org.
