Jaime Cuéllar founded Mariachi Garibaldi as a youth group in Bakersfield 20 years ago. The group has earned the privilege of opening for Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán during its 2008 tour in California and have shared stages with other great artists in the mariachi tradition including Yolanda Del Rio, Mercedes Castro and Alejandro Fernandez. Ballet Folklorico de Los Angeles was founded in 2011 by Kareli Montoya. The company already has performed in several well-known venues such as the Nokia Theater, Greek Theatre, John Anson Ford Amphitheater, Staples Center, Disneyland, StubHub Center and the Los Angeles and Orange County Fairs.
The dance company has also shared the stage with Mariachi Los Camperos de Nati Cano and has accompanied celebrities such as Lila Downs, Beatriz Adriana and Paquita la del Barrio.
The Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes Center has just joined ¡Viva el Arte de Santa Bárbara! as a north county collaborator to present concerts this fall at Guadalupe City Hall, becoming part of a team that includes the Marjorie Luke Theatre, the Guadalupe Cultural Arts & Education Center, Isla Vista School and UCSB Arts & Lectures.
