VENTURA — Hasan Consultants, a Ventura civil and environmental engineering company. is celebrating its 40thyear in business.
Mohammed A. Hasan, founder-owner and principal engineer of the company started the business in 1984 after working for the Ventura Regional Sanitation District, and then the City of Oxnard as the head of water and wastewater utilities.
Since its inception, Hasan Consultants has served both private and public sectors in specifications, design, cost estimates,expert witness, permitting, monitoring, client consultation for water, wastewater, drainage, roads, traffic and transportation, remediation, surveying, and land development. The staff of Hasan Consultants has experience in preparing EIRs, processing environmental projects, underground tank rehab, toxicity, source control, and stormwater projects. For the company’s 40thth anniversary, resolutions, proclamations and certificates of commendation were received from City of Ventura Mayor Joe Schroeder, City Oxnard Mayor John Zaragoza, Ventura County Board of Supervisors, California Legislature-Assemblyman Steve Bennett, US congress-Congressman Salud Carbajal, among others.
Hasan has a long history of public service and community involvement. He has served in various non-profit organizations and charities in Ventura County for 50 years including the boards at Ventura East Rotary, Ventura Trade Club, Consult-net, Channel Counties Water Utilities Association, Villa Seville HOA, Tri County Easter Seals, Ventura Youth Employment and Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. He has served on committees at Ventura Boys &Girls Club, and the Ventura Chamber of Commerce. He was a judge at the Ventura County Science Fair, and California Migrant Education regional debate and speech tournament. Hasan is the founder and instructor for free Longevity classes held in Ventura. He was a volunteer at Catholic Charities food distribution, and the Ventura County fair. All the local newspapers have published an article or two about his passion for service to the community.
As an elected official, he currently serves as a board member of United Water Conservation District. He also serves on the Local Agency Formation Commission of Ventura County (LAFCO). He serves as the vice president of El Concilio, a non-profit that serves the mostly under-served in Ventura county.
Hasan has earned advanced degrees from the University of Iowa, is a Fellow of two national professional societies, and speaks six languages. Originally from Bangladesh, he has been a Ventura County resident since 1974. He lives in Ventura with his wife,JoAnn. They have two adult daughters.
