Ventura County School Closures for Monday, Dec. 18

VENTURA COUNTY — Due to continuing air quality concerns, some Ventura County school districts will be closed on Monday, December 18. This includes school sites and classrooms operated by the Ventura County Office of Education in the Ventura and Ojai areas (see the full list below). This chart reflects the latest information we have received from the districts. It will be updated regularly at www.vcoe.org as we receive new information.

VCOE-operated Schools and Classrooms

All VCOE-operated schools and classrooms located in the Ventura Unified and Ojai Unified School Districts will be closed the entire week of Monday, December 18 through Friday, December 22. This includes: Boswell School, Penfield School, Ojai TEAMS and the VCOE special education classrooms at Ventura High School and Balboa Middle School.

Currently, we anticipate that all other VCOE-operated sites will be open on Monday, December 18. This includes the Career Education Center locations in Camarillo and Moorpark, Gateway Community School, Providence School, all Phoenix School sites, ACCESS, Dean Triggs School, James Foster School, Dwire School, Triton Academy and the VCOE classrooms at Moorpark High School, Dos Caminos School, Las Colinas School, La Mariposa School, Emily Ritchen School, Williams School and Sunkist School.

For the safety of our students, we are continually monitoring air quality as we determine which locations will be open. We will send another notification on Sunday evening and post the latest updates online at vcoe.org.
