Construction commenced March 11 and is expected to run through mid-April
VENTURA COUNTY — On March 5, the Ventura County Public Works Agency (VCPWA) awarded a contract to Summer Construction to begin emergency repairs to the abutment of Old Telegraph Road over Sespe Creek in Fillmore on March 11, 2024. The emergency repairs are expected to take about 30 days, with an estimated completion in mid-April 2024.
“The safety of our residents that use this route is our top priority, and I’m grateful to the Public Works Agency for their fast action in assessing the situation and quickly securing a contract to address these much-needed repairs,” said Supervisor Kelly Long. “Having one lane available on the bridge heading east will provide a protected and convenient route into town for residents of west Fillmore. While this construction is underway, please remember to drive safely and be alert in work zone areas.”
During construction, the roadway will be open for one lane of traffic in the east bound direction. No trucks are authorized to use this route as this time, due to weight restrictions. VCPWA will provide updates on the construction as needed to keep community members aware of the progress and any other changes to be noted.
