VENTURA — Ventura County Clerk-Recorder and Registrar of Voters Michelle Ascencion announced the November 13, 2023 opening of the nomination period for the March 5, 2024 Presidential Primary Election. Those who are interested in running for office should make an appointment to obtain their candidate filing documents from the Ventura County Elections Division for the following offices:
Partisan Offices
President of the United States
Voter-Nominated Offices
United States Senator (Full and Partial/Unexpired Term)
United States Representative in Congress: 24th, 26th, and 32nd Congressional Districts
Member of the State Senate: 21st and 27th State Senatorial Districts
Member of the State Assembly: 38th, 42nd, and 46th State Assembly Districts.
Nonpartisan Offices
Ventura County Superior Court Judge: 9 Seats
Ventura County Board of Supervisors: 1st, 3rd, and 5th Supervisorial Districts
The Ventura County Elections Division is located in the Lower Plaza of the Hall of Administration, 800 S. Victoria Ave., at the Ventura County Government Center. Appointments can be made online through the Elections Division website at VenturaVote.org or by calling the Elections Division at 805-654-2664.
The nomination period closes on Friday, December 8, 2023. All nomination documents and fees must be filed with the Elections Division no later than 5:00 p.m. If nomination documents for an incumbent elective officer are not filed by the December 8 deadline, the voters shall have until 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, to nominate candidates other than the incumbent.
