Will’s Promise
Meet Will Jones and his son. Will was born in Detroit and moved to California when he was 16 years old with little to his name. As an adult, he worked hard for the things he wanted but living in California quickly made him realize that owning a home would be very expensive. He made a promise to his son that one day, they would afford a home to call their own. As a single father working long hours over multiple jobs, saving was almost impossible. Their living situation was less than ideal, staying on friend’s couches. Then, he met his Realtor, Cynthia. She took Will under her wing and guided him through the homebuying process, connecting him with Alex at VCCDC. VCCDC helped Will access as much financial assistance as possible for Will’s down payment and closing costs, removing a lot of the burden he felt to come up with such a large sum of money.
“Having an affordable home for my children and I has been the biggest blessing I could ever have received. VCCDC made it possible for me to make owning a home a reality.”
Do you know someone who is dreaming of homeownership for their family? Don’t let them pass up this opportunity!

PARTNER SPOTLIGHT
We are grateful for our generous partners who are committed to investing in the communities we serve. Thanks to their support we can ensure that VCCDC continues assisting local individuals and families to find a place to call home.
This month, Bank of the Sierra has generously contributed $15,000 towards providing financial education, homeownership assistance, down payment assistance, and lending counseling. This is in addition to their $10,000 Title Sponsorship of our Celebration event.
20TH ANNIVERSARY FEATURE
We are so proud to be marking our 20th year of transforming lives through homeownership. Many people and organizations have worked tirelessly over the years to build the VCCDC we know today.
As part of our 20th Anniversary Celebrations, our incredible staff team here at VCCDC has put together a video to recognize the ways we’ve impacted people in our community over the years.

INTRODUCING VERONICA!
Veronica Galicia, VCCDC’s Program Development Coordinator, joined our staff team in May and we wanted to get to know her a little!
1. What do you do here at VCCDC?
Hi! I am the Program Development Coordinator of the Rent Relief Program Assistance, which helps households that have been affected by COVID-19 directly or indirectly and are behind their rent and/or utilities. Basically, what I do in this position is help people with inquiries regarding the program like overview questions, application process, eligibility requirements and submitting applications.
2. What is your favorite part about working for VCCDC?
Knowing that our team can make positive impact in our community.
3. What is your favorite local place to eat?
I don’t have any local favorite restaurant; I prefer to cook and eat at home.
