“When I found out about this class i didn’t really know something like this existed. I thought you kinda just go about it on your own. “
What is the homebuying process like? What options are out there? What should you avoid? …. Like many potential homebuyers, Melissa, who is in the beginning stages of her homebuying journey, had questions! After doing some research she found VCCDC and learned about our Homebuyer Education workshop. She decided to give it a try and ended up learning about credit, budgeting, mortgage loans, the escrow process and many other important homebuying topics. Melissa, along with the rest of the attendees, listened and interacted with professionals with many years of experience in the homebuying field including HUD-certified Homeownership Specialists, Mortgage Loan Specialists, Realtors, Insurance Agents and other industry experts who share VCCDC’s mission of empowering our community through education and homeownership.
“It was really helpful to have all the information before I even start the process so that any questions that might come up, they can be answered by someone that I now trust and who’s knowledgeable about the information.”
After attending the workshop Melissa felt like she made the right decision to dedicate her Saturday to learning more about the homebuying process from experts in the industry. Like 96% of those who have attended our workshop, Melissa now feels better prepared to continue working towards her goal of owning a home.
“I feel like before even having to drop any money, I’ve made a good investment for my future.”
Homebuying can be an overwhelming process and most often one that families have to navigate without having much knowledge in the subject. Since incorporating in 2001, VCCDC has worked to change this. We have empowered more than 16,000 families by providing them with the tools, resources and education they need to become knowledgeable and successful homebuyers.
We want to continue to help build the path to homeownership and financial stability for families and individuals in our community through our education and financial coaching programs!
