UPDATED: Ventura County School Closures for Monday, Dec. 11

VENTURA COUNTY — Many Ventura County school districts are planning to be open on Monday, December 11. However, some that have been more severely impacted by the Thomas fire will remain closed. The list below reflects the latest information we have received from the districts. Updates will be posted at www.vcoe.org.

Additional Closure Information about VCOE-operated Schools: Ventura County Office of Education school sites will be closed on Monday, December 11 due to the wildfires, except the Career Education Center location in Moorpark, which will be open.

The Monday closures include Gateway and Providence Schools, the Career Education Center location in Camarillo, Boswell School, Dwire School, James Foster School, Penfield School, Triton Academy, ACCESS, Phoenix School sites, as well as the VCOE Special Education classrooms located on district school sites.

On Tuesday, December 12 all VCOE school sites will be open to staff only. All sites will reopen to students on Wednesday, December 13.

As conditions permit, school administrators will be available on Monday during normal school hours at all main VCOE campuses. For VCOE staff, please check your work email for site specific information. Additional updates on the status of VCOE schools will be posted online at www.vcoe.org.
