United Way of Ventura County introduces new Director of Resource Development and Marketing

VENTURA COUNTY — United Way of Ventura County is proud to announce it has appointed Jill Shaffer as director of resource development and marketing. She brings more than 40 years of experience in marketing and fundraising within the nonprofit sector.

Shaffer most recently served as the community engagement manager at Unite Us, where she developed strong relationships with community partners and facilitated collaboration with over 100 local organizations and agencies connecting them to vital services through the coordinated care network. In her new role, Shaffer will design and lead UWVC’s fundraising campaigns and build relationships with the community.

“Jill has proven time and again that she cares deeply about the people in the Ventura County community and is driven to help those in need,” said Mitchel Sloan, president and CEO of United Way of Ventura County. “We’re looking forward to putting her skills toward assisting in the challenges many face in our unique community.”

Shaffer earned her bachelor’s at California State University, Northridge. She previously served as the development director at the Ventura County Community Development Corporation and director of resource development at Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County as well as held leadership roles with the YMCA and Ventura County Leadership Academy.
