In Rome, Schooler will present alongside research colleague Madeline Gross, assistant project scientist. Together, they are investigating how art can induce a state of cognitive openness, allowing viewers to approach the world with greater mental flexibility.
The distinguished professor emeritus has received the 2024 Distinguished Scientist Award from the Society of Experimental Social Psychology, which recognizes “individuals who have made unusually important contributions to experimental social psychology.”
Continuing a successful collaboration, UCSB has again partnered with students and the broader community to develop an array of rules, regulations, safety enhancement and alternative events through Nov. 4.
The celebrated acoustic guitarist is joined by two other standard bearers of West African musical traditions – kora player Cissokho and balafon master Keïta.
