Help is on the way: UCSB staff train to pitch in during a disaster

Community Emergency Response Training, or CERT, a national program first developed by the Los Angeles Fire Department in 1985, trains volunteers to assist at a disaster scene before professional first responders can arrive. It has been taught for UCSB staff members 61 times since 2010.
