haydock-academy-of-arts-sciencesOXNARD — On Friday October 7th the top level music production technology company Ableton will be visiting the Haydock Academy Middle School in Oxnard, CA as part of the International Push Initiative to bring music technology into educational institutions. This school Haydock has been selected to be part of this initiative and has opened up a music production lab after investing in music gear, and receiving generous donations of equipment from Ableton. The goal of the program at Haydock is to teach music production professional skills and this has been integrated into some music classes as part of project based learning.

“If I can learn to make the music that sounds like the music that I love listening to, is there anything I cannot learn?” says Gerhard Behles the Ableton CEO. Ableton will visit Haydock School on Friday, October 7th from 10:55 to 12:46 to give a master class and interact with the 33 students that are part of the program. Throughout the year students meet weekly as part of their piano class to learn music production, and are part of a lunchtime club twice a week. The students learn how to create original songs, and work with other forms of media to present their work.
