MONTECITO — Rotary Club of Montecito officially announces the chairs of its “Back 2 School” fundraiser as Tony Morris, Club Director of Vocational Service, and Cathy Cash, past Club President.

Since its founding in 1953, Rotary Club of Montecito has been developing projects and delivering service to their community and the wider world for over 67 years. Continuing that philanthropic mission, the Club is hosting a “Back 2 School” fundraiser on May 19, 2021 for Santa Barbara City College student scholarships.

As productive members of the California Central Coast philanthropy community, Tony Morris and Cathy Cash are charged with planning and oversight of the fundraising event for the SBCC Foundation.

After graduating from Troy University’s journalism program and spending 27 years in corporate America, Morris moved to California where he was involved in nonprofits and launched his Intuitive Counselor practice. Today, Morris fulfills the position of Montecito Rotary Club’s Director of Vocational Service while also serving as Director of Community Outreach & Development for the Rona Barrett Foundation, which provides affordable housing and wellness services for low-income elderly. In his capacity, he leads fundraising and public relations efforts for the nonprofit located in Santa Ynez.

“I was introduced to Rotary when I was in 7th grade, when I attended my first club meeting in my hometown. I was always impressed with the goodwill the club brought to my community. Today, I feel the same way about my adopted hometown’s Rotary Club as well. Together, we’ll continue to do good work- and treasure friendships along the way,” says Morris.

Cathy Cash served as Montecito Rotary Club’s President for the 2017-2018 term and has recently retired as the head of Morton Capital Management’s Santa Barbara office.

Cash’s community involvement extends beyond the Rotary Club to organizations like the Santa Barbara Estate Planning Council, the Santa Barbara Firefighter’s Alliance, The Women’s Fund, Girls Inc., United Way, Laguna Blanca School, National Charity League, and St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church.

A licensed Certified Financial Planner® and Wealth Advisor, Cash graduated from the University of Tennessee with a bachelor’s degree in communications and earned her MBA in Finance from Rockhurst College.

Rotary Club of Montecito and its donors have awarded over $100,000 to high-achieving students that have demonstrated academic excellence and community involvement throughout its years of partnership with the SBCC Foundation.
