Tom Fisher Announced as New President of Montecito Rotary Club

MONTECITO — Tom Fisher has been named the new president of the Rotary Club of Montecito.

Fisher and his wife, Lora, are both long-time Rotarians and transferred to the Rotary Club of Montecito after relocating to Santa Barbara three years ago. He will begin his new role as president on July 1, 2021.

In addition to being a Certified Financial Planner® and Chartered Financial Analyst, Fisher has served in various philanthropic capacities as the Past Treasurer of Carmel by the Sea Rotary Club and as a Rotary International-recognized Paul Harris Fellow. Notable recipients of the recognition include U.S. President Jimmy Carter, U.S. astronaut James Lovell, UN Secretary-General Javier Perez de Cuellar, and polio vaccine developer Jonas Salk.

Since earning his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Financial Services at San Diego State University, Fisher has gone on to work for various investment and wealth management firms in his 35-year career in financial planning and investment management.

Fisher currently serves the as Chief Investment Officer for Montecito Bank & Trust, the largest locally owned community bank on the Central Coast, applying his knowledge as a past member of the San Diego Financial Planning Association.

Founded in 1953, the Rotary Club of Montecito supports the efforts of Rotary International to achieve world understanding and peace through international humanitarian, educational and cultural exchange programs. The club participates in volunteer activities in Montecito, the surrounding community, and in countries around the world.

Due to the pandemic, the club currently holds meetings via Zoom video conferencing at noon every other Tuesday.
