Nos Traen Cortitos is a showcase of short films in Spanish held at the Teatro de las Américas in the city of Oxnard, CA.
Nos Traen cortitos is a unique space dedicated to the creation of cinema in Spanish, whose objective is to allow the public of the city of Oxnard, CA, to appreciate the work of Spanish-speaking filmmakers in the United States of America. Almost 60% of the population of Oxnard is Spanish-speaking and the supply of film productions for this audience is scarce.
A little history. In 2023, the first Spanish-language short film showcase was held at the Teatro de las Américas, created to give exposure to the short film from the first Film Workshop of the Teatro de las Américas.
The 2024 edition of Nos Traen Cortitos was the second time that the showcase of short films in Spanish was held, but the first in which there was a nationwide open call under the name Nos Traen Cortitos
In 2025 the exhibition will be made up of a selection of short films between 1 and 30 minutes long that will make up a program of around 2 hours to be screened at the Teatro de las Américas, a theater dedicated mainly to the production of plays in Spanish in the city of Oxnard, CA and which has a capacity of 49 people. As a theater group, Teatro de las Américas has been serving the Spanish-speaking community of the city of Oxnard and Ventura County, CA for more than 30 years. |
