Iris: Mid to Late 20’s. The prodigal daughter. Law student. Latinx Spanish/English speaking role. Female presenting.
Rosa: 50’s. Iris’ mother. The glue that holds the family together. Santera. Latinx. Spanish/English speaking role. Female presenting.
Brian: Late 20’s. Iris’s fiancé. Fish out of water meeting the parents for the first time. Asian American. English speaking role. Male presenting.
Maravilla: Early to mid 30’s. Iris’s cousin. The slacker. Speaks fluent sarcasm. Latinx. Spanish/English speaking role.
Pucho: 40 to 50. Iris’s Uncle. Recent naturalized citizen who refuses to speak Spanish out of principle. Spanish/English speaking role. Latinx Male presenting.
Violeta: 70-80’s, Rosa’s mom. A former singer and performer currently dealing with aging and memory loss. Speaks only Spanish.
Juan: 50’s, the family’s down to earth Guajiro patriarch. Latinx. English/Spanish Speaking.
The lechón is roasting, the yuca bubbles and the flan is steaming in the oven, all the trappings of Noche Buena and the chaos before Christmas in Hialeah, Fl. Join the Delgado-Piñeiras as they fall in love, reconnect, rediscover traditions, and prepare a Noche Buena for the ages!
