WESTLAKE VILLAGE — The Southeast Ventura County YMCA raised more than $200,000  to support YMCA programs during its annual fundraising campaign that ended March 22. The funds will be used to ensure local YMCA programs and memberships are available to those in financial need and to enhance YMCA youth and adult programs.

“We hold one major fundraiser a year. The Y is very grateful for those who donated,” says Ronnie Stone, president and CEO of the Y. “With rising costs on just about everything, people still were able to give.”

YMCA offers its Find My Genius five-week summer program to low-to-moderate-income students identified by their teachers as those who could benefit from continued academic learning and social growth during the summer. The Y’s Safety Around Water summer program teaches children the basics of water safety. “The Y can provide these programs free to participants because of donations from individuals and businesses in the community,” says Stone.

The Southeast Ventura County YMCA serves the Conejo Valley, Santa Rosa Valley, Moorpark and Simi Valley. In eastern Ventura County since 1964, the YMCA provides health and enrichment programs to more than 25,000 residents annually of which over 6,000 are provided financial assistance.
