Hello,
Today, the SJFVC Board of Directors launches a match opportunity. We will match your donation dollar-for-dollar up to a maximum of $8,656 through December 31, 2024. Please take advantage of this chance to make your donation more impactful. Your $250 contribution becomes $500, for example. Click below to “Donate Now” or send a check to Social Justice Fund for Ventura County, P.O. Box 1271, Camarillo, CA 93011.
We need your help to sustain the Fellowship Program. Providing the grants, the training and coaching are important. To do this we need to reach $110,000 before January 1, 2025. We are short by $20,000.
With your past support ….
The Social Justice Fellowship Program funded over 30 emerging leaders. They led projects that reduced food insecurity, cleaned up beaches, built awareness of pollution, developed youth and prevented gang membership, held social events for special needs persons, offered prenatal care for women of color, and many more. Our Fellows’ work touched thousands across our communities. To learn more, click here: https://socialjusticefundvc.org/.
2023 Fellows: Karina Cortes, Chantel Tapia, Marisol Gonzalez, Diego Magana |
Fellows developed and further honed their skills. The SJFVC offers training, coaching and experiences for the Fellows to build their talents and broaden their networks. Fellows engage monthly with Coaches to advance their projects. We provide project management, budget development, community organizing, and other trainings. We connect the Fellows to local leaders who can help them achieve their goals. Our Fellows leave the program more confident in their abilities to drive change.
Fellows continue leading change. After their Fellowships, these leaders obtained jobs with local state assembly members, built vibrant nonprofits which continue addressing inequities, led a farmers’ market in a food desert, as well served as board members on local civic committees.
They embody the leaders of change we all imagined.
Your donation, no matter how big or small, will make a difference in Ventura County. Help us continue supporting emerging leaders develop their skills and make an impact in our community.
If you have any questions, referrals, or creative ideas, please share them with our Program Manager, Jonathan “Mac” Macaranas, at jon.mac@socialjusticefundvc.org or (805) 253-3624.
With much gratitude,
Michael Teasdale Board Chair
