SANTA BARBARA — UCSB Arts & Lectures presents its 65th anniversary season of world-class cultural and artistic events, from stimulating lectures and animated conversations with today’s thought leaders to brilliant performances by the world’s most accomplished dancers, singers, musicians and performers. Single (non-subscription) tickets for UCSB Arts & Lectures’ 2024-2025 season go on sale Friday, August 2 at 10 a.m.

Miller McCune Executive Director Celesta M. Billeci sees the upcoming 65th anniversary 2024-2025 season as “more than a milestone. It’s a time to reflect on the organization’s storied past and celebrate with our friends and supporters. It’s also a time to look ahead and imagine what the next 65 years can bring.”

The 2024-2025 season begins on Tuesday, October 1, with a concert and opening night festivities featuring Snarky Puppy. The spectacular opening week continues on October 4 with HARAWI, a thrilling new project from soprano Julia Bullock and the team at American Modern Opera Company. The next day, Khan Academy founder Salman Khanarrives to explore the next frontier of personalized learning. The excitement builds on Tuesday, October 8, when roots legend Mavis Staples and The War and Treaty share a twin headliner double bill. On Saturday, October 12, make way for the London Philharmonic Orchestra featuring soloist Patricia Kopatchniskaja and conducted by Edward Gardner.

On October 14, celebrated chef and best-selling author Yotam Ottolenghi arrives for a lecture and cooking demonstration. In the lead-up to the 2024 Presidential election, innovative Belgian theater artists Ontroerent Goed present their interactive digital performance Fight Night on October 15. On October 20, the Queen of Mariachi, Aida Cuevas, takes to the stage for a tribute to the great Mexican composer and pop icon Juan Gabriel. The 2024-25 Dance series starts November 2 with Cloud Gate Dance Theatre of Taiwan’s colorful 13 Tongues.  Popular author Anne Lamott visits on November 13 with a new book, Somehow: Thoughts About Love.

Arts & Lectures has several great events for the holiday season, beginning November 14 with Disney’s ENCANTO, a Sing-Along Film Concert, featuring Lin-Manuel Miranda’s chart-topping hits. December 3 brings the tap magic of Dorrance Dance to town with their spellbinding jazz version of The Nutcracker Suite, including music by Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn. Roots/Americana fans will want to be there for Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway on December 6, while those inclined towards more international seasonal fare can’t go wrong with the always festive Pink Martini Holiday Show on December 17.

Ring in 2025 with an encore appearance by Julia Bullock, this time singing great Baroque standards with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment at the Lobero on January 21. New York writer and humorist Fran Lebowitz makes her A&L debut on January 25, and A&L favorites the Danish String Quartet return on January 31. Bound into February alongside Twyla Tharp Dance (February 11) and Batsheva Dance Company on February 25. The month closes out with an unprecedented night of dueling pianos featuring two of the world’s foremost keyboard virtuosos, Yuja Wang and  Víkingur Ólafsson(February 28) performing Schubert, Rachmaninoff and more.

Reserve your seats now for An Evening with Yo-Yo Ma on April 5. Dance roars back in April when Akram Khan presents GIGENIS (April 10), and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater arrives for a two-night stand April 15 and 16. Finally, in May witness the majesty of the Wynton Marsalis Ensemble in a special evening of live music and film honoring the early life and Storyville roots of Louis Armstrong (May 17).

Founded in 1959, UCSB Arts & Lectures (A&L) is the largest and most influential arts and lectures organization between Los Angeles and San Francisco. A&L annually presents more than a hundred public events, from critically acclaimed concerts and dance performances by world-renowned artists to talks by groundbreaking authors and film series at UCSB and Santa Barbara-area venues.
