SANTA MARIA — Several Pioneer Valley High School student leaders recently attended Oakley Elementary School to promote literacy during their Read Across America event.
Panthers Bruin Chapman, Ravynn Anielski, Madison Hernandez, and Sinai Sanchez Barajas took time to read books to 4th, 5th and 6th graders.
“This is a great opportunity for a few of our student leaders at Pioneer Valley High School to give back to the youth of our community,’’ assistant principal Greg Dickinson. “We are proud of the students who volunteered to share their own personal stories of their love for reading and why reading is so important to their future success in high school. Events such as this remind our high school students of the role model that they really are. Thank you to the Oakley Elementary School staff for including PVHS in this community endeavor.’’
