Secured Property Tax Deadlines and Tax Collector Updates for COVID-19

SECURED TAXES ARE DELINQUENT AFTER APRIL10,2020: Steven Hintz, Ventura County Treasurer-Tax Collector, announced that April 10th deadline for Secured property tax bills is still in effect. The 2nd installment of the 2019/20 Annual Secured property tax bill is due as of February 1st and will become delinquent if not paid on or before April 10th• The Treasurer-Tax Collector’s Office does not have the authority to extend the payment deadline of April roth and all payments received after this date will be assessed a late payment penalty.

OFFICE HOURS AND LOCATIONS: Pursuant to the Ventura County Board of Supervisor’s instructions on March 17,2020, the Government Center Officeswill be closed to the public effective March 18, 2020 until at least April 1, 2020, to help limit the spread of COVID-19.Because of this, our public counters willnot be open at 800 South VictoriaAvenue,Ventura, CA93009. Additionally, The Tax Collector’s East County Satellite Office at 625 West Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks, CA 91360, will not be in operation this tax season. WAYS TO PAY:
At this time, the secured tax information for Fiscal Year 2019-20 is available online for inquiry or payments. Payments can be made in the following fashions:

  • Online — Payments may be made online at www.VenturaPropertyTax.orgwith a credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover are accepted) or electronic check. Processor’s convenience fees will apply including $1.50 per eCheck transaction and 2.15%per credit card transaction.
  • USPS Postmarked Mail — Payments should be remitted to the Tax Collector’s payment processor at PO Box 51179,Los Angeles, CA90051-5479. Payments may also be mailed to the Tax Collector’s main office at 800 South Victoria Avenue, Ventura, CA93009-1290. Check, cashier’s checks and money orders are accepted. The timeliness of mailed payments is measured by U.S. Postal Service cancellation mark.

 

PENALTY WAIVERS AFfER APRIL 10TH: After April roth, the Treasurer-Tax Collector’s office will consider written requests for waiver oflate-payment penalties on a case by case basis, with proven significant economic hardship, directly caused by the Covid-ro situation. The Cancellation of Penalty form will be available on our website after April roth,
