OXNARD — The Oxnard School District’s 8th annual “Strengthening Our Families” conference will take place on Saturday, September 21 from 9 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at Haydock Middle School, 647 West Hill Street in Oxnard. The event will include activities for students and families.
“This event is a wonderful opportunity for our families to get connected to the important resources that are available to benefit everyone,” said Chris Ridge, Director of Pupil Services, for the Oxnard School District. “We expect this event to be bigger and better than last year’s event and we welcome everyone to attend.”
The conference will be organized into different themes that are of interest to attendees. The sessions will include pathways to college and career, positive parenting, healthy eating, self-care, and more. There will also be a community fair and family workshops. Free childcare is available for children ages 5-12 years old. There will be translation available in English, Spanish and Mixteco.
Attendance is free and lunch is included for children and adults. Registration information is available at all school sites. For more information, contact Jennie Peraza at (805) 385-1501, 2161.
