SBCC School of Extended Learning, Career Skills Institute
Prepare to enter or re-enter the workforce, or improve your personal or academic skills with new computer skills. Learn to use use Microsoft Word to create a novel, family history, dissertation, thesis, operations manual, or business and/or academic reports. This class covers layout/structure features including applying styles; table of contents; outline view; page setup; choosing fonts; controlling line, paragraph and page breaks; and many more.
You may elect to take this course independent of a Career Skills Institute digital badge or apply it to the Microsoft Office Skills, Level 2 Noncredit Certificate. This Certificate prepares students for entry-level office clerk jobs and provides a basis for more advanced college training and career laddering. You will learn to format and navigate long documents, work with large and multiple worksheets and workbooks in Excel and modify an existing PowerPoint presentation to improve its overall appearance. Utilizing one of the elective MS Office suite applications will enhance employability skills.
To obtain the Microsoft Office Skills, Level 2 Certificate, participants must complete a total of three required courses and one elective course:

(2) Microsoft Excel 2
(3) Microsoft Powerpoint 2
Electives:
(1) Microsoft Outlook 2
(2) Microsoft Publisher 2
(3) Microsoft Access 2
Microsoft Word 2 takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting March 30 through April 8. Classes will be held 6:30 PM – 8:45 PM.
